Let go

In order to move forward in life, we have to let go of the past.

But have you ever wondered hot to do that.. exactly?

Understand that we take hold of things in our minds with our THOUGHTS. Our thoughts become words, and these words become actions. THey determine the DIRECTION of our lives.

If you want to choose a new direction for you life, you have to choose new thoughts.

If you wanna let go of the past, you have to quit THINKING about it.. TALKING about it and RELIVING it.

It’s THAT simple.

I understand that Scissors can beat Paper, and I get how Rock can beat Scissors, but there’s no fucking way Paper can beat Rock.

Paper is supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can’t paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors!

Why can’t paper do this to people? Why aren’t sheets of college-ruled-notebook paper constantly suffocating student as they attempt to take notes in class?

I’ll tell you why… because paper can’t beat anybody!

A rock would tear that shit up in 2 seconds. When I play rock/ paper/ scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper, I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, “Oh shit, I’m sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you asshole.”

Life

Life isn’t about keeping score.

It’s not about how many people call you and it’s not about who you’ve dated, are dating or haven’t dated at all. It isn’t about who you’ve kissed or have kissed you. It’s not about what sport you play, what food you eat or which guy or girl likes you.

Life is not about your shoes or your hair or the color of you skin or where you live or go to school to. It’s not about grades, money, clothes and colleges that accept you.

Life isn’t about that.

Life is about who you love. It is about who you care for. It is about how you feel about yourselves and the people around you. It is about trust, happiness and compassion.

Life is about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance and building confidence. It’s about what you say and what you mean. it’s about seeing people for who they are and not what they have.

Most of all, it is about choosing to use your life to touch someone else’s.. in a way that could never have been achieved otherwise.

These choices are what life’s about.

Maturity

MATURITY has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them.. and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

Just becasue you’re older than me, doesn’t mean that you’re always right. Just because you’re older than me, doesn’t give you the right to force me to believe in everything that you say. Just because you’re older than me, doesn’t mean I can’t challenge you, ever.

MATURITY doesn’t always come with age. It comes with acceptance of responsibility. That fact.. you can never question.

Just some thoughts..

There are things that we don’t want to happen.. but they do, and we have to accept them. There are things that we don’t want to know.. but they present themselves, and we have to learn them. There are people we don’t want to live without.. but they live without us, and we have to let them go.
